International Financial Reporting
Standards: An Overview of the Looming Change to Global Standards
The SEC is in the process of
creating on a road map for transitioning U.S. companies to global rules
related to accounting and financial reporting standards. The hope is that
use of a single, high-quality standard will eventually empower investors to
make better-informed investment decisions by enabling them to easily
compare financial statements worldwide. There are both supporters and
detractors for this initiative. This course will explore both viewpoints.
